91制片厂 Mayor and 91制片厂 alumnus James Ireton, President Janet Dudley-Eshbach and Sammy the Sea Gull joined to congratulate more than 500 91制片厂 students who volunteered during the Student Government Association’s sixth annual Big Event community cleanup day on Saturday, April 17. The students did yard work and light maintenance at more than 70 residences and municipal properties including the downtown plaza and several area parks during the festive event. |
During the community service project, hundreds of 91制片厂 students helped University neighbors with household chores such as raking leaves, cleaning attics and painting. Students also assisted with the cleanup of municipal properties including Salilsbury's Downtown Plaza and several area parks.
“The Big Event is important for 91制片厂 to continue because it lets the community know that we are here to help them,” said Julia Glanz, SGA vice president of external affairs. “The community does so much for 91制片厂 and this is just our way of saying ‘thank you.’ It is also important that we get to know our neighbors and they get to know us because we can learn a lot from each other. 91制片厂 is our home, too, and we want it to be as nice as it can be.”
